09/03/22 Revisited for cream puff... business was good and hard to find a parking spot. Fortunately, Municipal parking is right next. It's worthy of if you like Japanese grocery shopping.. ------------------------------------------------- It's a pretty amazing Japanese grocery market. Not as big as Mitsuwa at Edgewater but it has almost the same many selections.... They have fresh sashimi grade choice of seafood and Wagyu grade meat products.. You can also buy Japanese bento like 鰻重 bento. I even see they sell Japanese drama DVD here... By the way, I do think the bakery inside is better than Hamada at Mitsuwa.... Finally, you shouldn't miss the cream puff next to the cashier.... A very nice Japanese grocery market to visit...

Say hello to Grandma baking the cream puffs every Saturday and Sunday morning till they're gone! Everything else that they carry is top of the line as well. Wonderful grades of tuna and other fishes as well as the cooked stuff from gyudon and katsu and broiled hamachi kama to sushi, chirashi, chashu, mabo tofu and everything else they make ready to eat. Everything in very small portions which is surprising to Westerners but it is ideal for households of one or two. They once had a katsu sando which I apologize for missing, but I forgot my wallet that day and slunk out without it. I'm sure it was divine and hope to see it again. Rice balls are very nice, large variety. They often have Japanese roasted sweet potatoes hot from the oven and will sell you a pint or quart of seasoned sushi rice hot from the tub. Top class place. The only thing I will say against them is that while their rice is good, the rice at Maruichi in Stamford is better, it is on a different level from anyone else's rice that I have ever tasted. They should copy that. That, and Maruichi has markdowns on bentos sushi etc after 6pm. But this place is a gem.

They have a lot of Japanese goods that are hard to come by. The store is a little too crowded for shopping carts. Matcha tea powder is expensive. Puffs are good.

We visited Daido Market which was highly recommended by our foodie friend. Their bento was decent with extremely reasonable price. Both Bentos were under $10 each which we haven’t seen in NYC in a while. Even though the taste was not delicate but the quality was still good enough.

Compact Japanese supermarket with lots of fish and vegetables variety. Especially love the freshly made cream puffs on the weekend! My entire family looked forward to the cream puffs whenever they visited me.

My Japanese friend recommended Daido to me so I went on a weekend afternoon. The store is pretty small and with limited parking like all the reviews say, but what a gem of a place this is! The selection of fish/sashimi and meat are really good and although the sushi and bento selection was not great when we went, I would definitely go back to see whats offered. Also do yourself a favor and stop by the bakery next to the cashier, the baked goods are top quality! Overall I had a blast just looking around the store and trying all the different Japanese products from the bentos, drinks, ice creams, and baked goods. Felt like I took a trip to Japan.
